WHICH ARE THE BEST SAFETY TOE WORK BOOTS FOR YOU?

Steel, Alloy or Composite

The job site will always throw challenges at you, so it's essential to wear the right safety toe work boots. Whether you're battling weather, electrical hazards or falling objects, every day is unpredictable, and your protective footwear should be ready for anything. Learn more about Safety Standards.

STEEL TOE WORK BOOTS

Engineered with heavy-duty tempered steel that's then coated with epoxy to resist corrosion, steel toe boots for men and women meet ASTM impact and compression safety standards. Designed with an asymmetrical shape for a roomier fit, the toe boxes are designed to protect you from falling objects and other potential job-site injuries. Steel Toe Safety boots are designed with heavy protection and ultimate safety in mind.

WHY THEY'RE GREAT: Steel-toe boots are super sturdy. They feature steel toe caps and maximum protection from potentially dangerous machinery, equipment and falling objects.

ALLOY TOE WORK BOOTS

The alloy safety toe boots keep your feet protected with lightweight, military-grade aluminum and roomy right and left toe boxes, all while meeting ASTM impact and compression safety standards.

WHY THEY'RE GREAT: Alloysafety boots are strong and lighter in weight than steel toe boots.

COMPOSITE TOE WORK BOOTS

Composite toe work boots feature lightweight, non-metallic, non-magnetic toe caps, which meet ASTM impact and compression safety standards and are slower to conduct cold.

WHY THEY'RE GREAT: Composite toe boots are light in weight, and won't set off metal detectors. They're also great for wearing in extreme high or low temperatures, because they don't conduct heat or cold as quickly as metal toe boxes do.

SOFT TOE WORK BOOTS

Not all jobs require safety toe footwear. If you're looking for a lightweight, comfortable option either on or off the job site, soft toe boots still offer plenty of support and performance. And many of the best-selling safety toe boots come in soft-toe options.

HIGH SAFETY STANDARDS

Depending on your line of work, you may even be required to wear safety-toe boots under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance standards. You need to find the best alloy toe, composite toe or steel toe work boots for the job at hand, and for your feet. Be sure your protected footwear are safety rated for impact and compression by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).

When your safety toe work boots and shoes meet ASTM F2412-11/ASTM F2413-11 impact and compression safety standards and meet impact I/75 standards and C/75 compression standards, thaqt means the toe boxes can withstand having 50 solid pounds of weight dropped on them from a height of 18 inches, and withstand 2,500 pounds of compression.

But beyond the common safety standards, each toe type has their differences. The right work boots should increase your level of comfort and provide support during long hours on your feet. (And if you don't need safety-toe boots, we have plenty of soft toe work boots and shoes, too!)
